Campbells Cove CO status revoked

Victoria’s Campbells Cove near Point Cook/Werribee has had it’s clothing optional status revoked, effective 1 September 2015. Council cited the growth in “urban sprawl” as the primary reason, after gathering community and other input earlier in July. Council’s decision was unanimous, and it would appear that there are plans to improve the area (although it is not yet clear what those improvements might actually be).

Here’s a couple of articles that are worth a look, but a quick Google will get you all the background you need. Victoria now has 3 official CO beaches, the Nude Beaches page has been updated accordingly.

  1. I am disappointed to here that Campbells Cove is no longer CO. I lived in Melbourne until 5 years ago and visited the beach several times each summer. It was my introduction to Free Beaches.
